Cold Snap on its way

Two Cold fronts are due this week as we rush into autumn. Right now getting one of them as a large amount of rain. Station says it has picked up 3/4 of an inch today. Its a nice soaking rain, too bad we didn’t have more of these over the summer to keep the grass from becoming toothpicks. Most of it is over as I type this, but the day was what it was, rain.

With one front out of the way we look towards the next on Sunday/Monday. Out in the great plains snow is a fallin’. Almost 3-5 inches inches are expected tonight. Being it early October I think it is too early for snow, but then again, usually the first time it drops below 30 degrees I expect snow, so I guess it evens out. This front will track our way, but will not bring as cold temps.  However lows will dip into the low to mid 30s through Wednesday.

It has been awhile since I have looked at the GFS and NAM. Seeing Low pressure areas dipping in on the jet stream gets me all antsy for this winter. When will the big one hit? How much will it bring? See, there I go, 45° and I’m wanting snow already!
