whoops missed a day

Christmas is around the corner and the typical buzz on whether it is going to be white or not is in the air. Up to today it looked pretty bland but things have been hoppin today. GFS on its strong and cool side, shows the track of a Low coming up the Appalachians forming a second low that bombs out in the Northeast creating a Nor’easter. In this we get the cool side and what looks to be a large swath of wrap-around snow. Its the light at the end of the tunnel but will have to let weather run its course and see how it shapes up in a few days.

(obviously blown up too much…)

In short term things look fairly scattered. Scattered being snow showers developing off Lake Michigan and tracking across. This is normally what we get from lake effect, random showers of snow, nothing  huge. Its a nice little reminder that winter is here and this is what happens.  I’d say we will have the best chance of accumulation Monday as a little clipper like system comes down. Probably big puffy flakes, not sure why, just felt like saying that (and we need some too). Temps will also stay winter like as we are entrenched in cold air, so bundle up.
