slop christmas eve, rain christmas day…

No, not slop like that creepy dish for dinner, I’m talking about sleet and freezing rain.

If at all possible postpone travel for Thursday evening/Night as we get tossed in a soup of messy weather. (yea it has to all come when we are on break) Think a quick initial shot of precip will start as snow and transfer to a fz rain and sleet mix. Soon after everything should turn to a cool rain by morning, making travel safer. Its hard to believe that with tonights lows expected to be in the teens, that we will see torrential rains on Friday but that’s why the weather is fascinating. By Friday afternoon the trusty dry slot with its dry air will end the precip before wrap around snows joins in this weekend to help with whatever Christmas cheer you have left. Yay.

Meanwhile some place in Minnesota or Wisconsin will get dumped on with heavy snows. This storm is almost a carbon copy of the past few that have ventured up here in December. I think this system is a bit further West because we look to get the dry slot and more rain then snow/sleet/fz rain.

Expect another update before Christmas.
