Storm takes aim for Great Lakes

Models have been in check, Watches have been issued, this thing is on its way!

As it stands now Southeastern Michigan could be under 8+ inches of snow late Wednesday. The low will stay close to the same track I posted Saturday, with us getting heavy snows Tuesday night. Winter Storm Watches are in effect for Western Michigan and no doubt will be in place tomorrow for Eastern Michigan. Fairly sure the dry slot will stay to our south which means we will get snow the whole time.

As the low pases we will get some powerful winds behind which could create blowing and drifting snow. Tuesday Night and Wednesday will not be a good time to be on the roads, suggest staying in place unless where you need to go is very important. This will be a major storm, may be looking at snow rates of over a inch per hour Tuesday night. Not thinking it will be as crippling as the east coast storm that just rolled through, but we are in a prime location for heavy snows.

Hope everyone enjoys the Superbowl! And enjoy the (maybe) 3 day week!
