Storm continues to ramp it up

The daylight hours today were white. By 4pm about 2-3 inches were on roads and still growing. Light banding set up pretty early around 11:00 I got this shot from the NOAA site.

11:00am

Light snows @ 11:00am, Light banding can be seen by the green areas, not too organized

Now at 8:30pm nothing looks a whole lot different but the bands are stronger.

Stronger precip located over SE Michigan

The pivot point is over western Michigan now and is expected to move slowly across lower Michigan tonight. this will occur in the hours between 9pm and 3am.  Decided to draw a scribble to make sense of it.

Pic says enough :D

Now that I look at it the rotation arrows are decieving, but the mass is rotating in that general direction: http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/centgrtlakes_loop.php

Behind the system strong winds will pick up. Sustained winds of around 20 mph with gusts to 30mph are possible. This will make drifting snow a large possibility. Roads can quickly be covered by blown snow creating slick spots. Winter Storm Warning continues until 10am Wednesday.
