Another shot at Mod-Heavy Snow

Have actually been looking at this storm for a few days now. The GFS does a good job at playing with people and popping a random storm up now and then. All the models were also bickering about where the exact track is. Even though that is still happening, have a pretty good grasp we will see more than a few flurries.

For Sunday Night/ Monday we could be looking at another 6 inch snowfall as a Low tracks south of our area. This is a warmer system and the possibility for some rain or freezing rain to sneak in is there. However I think most of that will stay to our south for Ohio and Indiana to deal with. Expect this low to peel North toward Canada instead of the last one which made a bee line to the East coast. With this little lift at then end, I can see the possibility for a little liquid precip. But right behind it temps drop right back down with winds howling. Probably Western Michigan or southern Wisconsin will see the most snow as they could easily be in moderate to heavy snows the whole duration. Looking at the GFS we could slip in the dry slot, but that also could be the GFS model and its northern bias. NAM also advertises this, but with a little further south track.

All this will happens when 2 systems phase and tap into gulf moisture. A high pressure system near the Carolinas will help spoon feed the moisture into the storm system. At the same time it will help push the low northward to interact with the Ohio Valley.

May get some photos up later tonight when the new 18 UTC suite comes out.
