Who turned the ‘green’ switch on?

Looking out the window it has dawned on me the strange color that seems to be emerging. Green grass! Welcome back! Long time no see, hopefully you will stay around a while and show us a nice spring. A slight drop in temps later this week will show us the cool side of spring, but things should bump back up after the weekend.

Few lows have tracked through the area over this week. First one came a little rude with some thunder and the second a little more quiet with light to moderate rain. After a nice 70 degree day today, we can expect things to cool off for Thursday and Friday. Highs will struggle to approach the mid 50s Thursday with a chance of another soaking rain. Things look more pleasant on Friday as the system moves to the east. Helping it along will be some fairly breezy conditions so hold on to your hat. This weekend the warmup begins in the 60s with temps reaching 70 by Tuesday.

The beginning of spring also marks the onset of severe weather. Some parts of the country have already experienced severe storms from strong wind to tornadoes. Tonight as the cold front sweeps east, storms have been firing from Indiana to Louisiana. Highest threat today would be high winds along the squall line with some pretty severe lightning. A tornado watch is out for occasional storms that may support them.
