Rounds of showers/thunderstorms

Southern portion of the state will see some waves of rain and thunderstorms today, but areas further north should be dry. Temps should be moderate in the 60s before a warm up Tuesday where we could hit 80. That does not stick around long before reinforcing cool air comes back. With those temp changes, some thunderstorms are possible.

Out in the Atlantic, Igor has been back and forth but looks to be weakening down to a Cat 2. Looks on track to pound Bermuda in which it could dump a lot of rain. Tropical Storm Julia is taking an extreme turn northward and should pose no threat what so ever for the mainland.

Today’s cool image was actually taken last week:

Hurricane Igor with well defined eye.

Great image with lots to look at. At one point you can notice the shadow of the sun setting on the eye. Looking to the left you can see different cloud layers and their vector. Very neat watching all the convection surrounding the hurricane.
