Stuck in a Lake Effect band tonight…so far. Late week looks white.

Was actually not paying much attention outside for a hour or so, and got up to grab a bag of chips to see the roads had snowed over. Quick check of the radar verified a really discrete and narrow band of lake effect snow over Mount Pleasant. Pretty neat sight, but it is bitter outside. Really starting to pick up.

Grand Rapids NWS radar picture of some lake effect snow.

Big stuff coming by the end of the week. We have a clipper system coming Thursday/Friday to prep us for a possible whammy on the weekend. Right now this looks to be the most active winter weather so far. While the clipper is pretty set in stone, the weekend storm is still iffy on track/paths. Fairly certain we will see the white stuff and not liquid, but a slight mix cannot be ruled out. This has the potential to be a 6+ inch snowfall, but again the track means everything! Wind, cold air, and snow, all on the platter. Stay tuned, will have an update tomorrow.

Little hesitent to share this in case I jinx it but…whatever:

Look near the ‘L’ in that mass of green and Michigan should stick out like a sore thumb…sorry didn’t give you a heads up on the pun.
