Adventures, and a snowy Northeast.

This past week I received a new Canon EOS Rebel T2i. I have long wanted a DSLR of good value because I am quite tired of restricted point and shoots. Think most of this arrose when I wanted to take better time lapse sequences of clouds and weather in general. Will be able to do some fantastic things with it, and already captured a circumhorizontal arc while out sledding the other day. Lucky to spot it because less than 45 seconds later it was gone.

Colorful circumhorizontal arc. Sun just off frame to the left.

Also got some shots of a nice sunset that followed. Will post them to my Flickr profile, and they should appear to the right when they are up.

Well, for any anti-snow people out there, you sure dodged a bullet this past weekend! The Northeast got slammed with a snowstorm. While accumulations varied by a short distance, effects are still being felt. Found a great video time lapse that showed the snow piling up!

Very neat! Hope everyone over there is satisfied now!

Our next precip chance will likely be liquid as a warm system will move through. Will be strange seeing 40 degree temps in late December/Early January, but might as well get it over with now. Expect a changeover from snow to rain Wed Night/Thursday, before some heavy rain moves through New Years Eve.
