Taste of spring…gone.

Snow took a hit these past few days. While not all of it is toast, large patches of grass can be found here and there. Would not be surprised if some locations hit the record books today. The Grand Rapids NWS office posted some notable records on this day:

Grand Rapids……55F (set in 1911)

Lansing……………56F (set in 1880)

Muskegon………..50F (set in 1911 and 2008)

Will find out soon if these records fell, takes some time to check the official sensors since it could be a record after all!

Lots of people enjoying the warmth will be disappointed when some slop returns for early next week. Notably the chance for freezing rain, snow and rain. Models for this system have been all over the place. Really cannot nail anything down other than some possibly significant precipitation will swing by Monday.

Looking ahead, a line of storms looks to make the weather very interesting. The fact these storms show up on the GFS and other long range models bears watching. Winter is set to play its tricks!
