Thunder in the south, snow up top

Latest system will track south of Michigan and bring everything to the table. Areas in the north can expect light accumulating snows with a mix of sleet. Think most of the frozen precip should fall even with the thumb, roughly north of Saginaw. Anywhere south will deal with mostly liquid precip. In this area a few rumbles of thunder are possible.

Temps will hover in the mid 30s day and night in the south until this system passes. Behind the storm, temps will be able to dip into the teens once again as a low. Overall a moderating trend looks clear as highs will continue to be in the mid 30s during the week.

A break from stormy weather exists for most of the week. Next shot at some precipitation is Friday.

Yet another threat for severe weather in the south today. Same locations are to be under tornado and hail fire. Parts of Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, and Illinois look to be in the target zone.
