Well I Hate to (freezing) Rain on Everyone’s Spring Parade…

Enjoy Spring while we still have it! Mid-week storm system looks to bring wintry weather back to Michigan for at least a couple of days.

We will get in the 50s on Monday as a warm front lifts through the area along with showers. Once that is over, this next storm mid-week will prove to bring more cold air with it.

Was reading the Forecast Discussion out of Grand Rapids NWS and the forecaster related this next storm to an icy solution in April of 2003 where up to an inch of ice fell. Slight mention of a winter weather watch possibility in the next 24 hours, will keep an eye on that. This will be the focus this week.

Second half of the week proves to be much cooler. Highs look to only creep into the 30s with partly cloudy skies.

Hurricane season is still well off, but looking at them never gets old! Today’s media:  http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/09/hurricanes_as_seen_from_orbit.html

"A look into the eye of the storm from space was provided by astronaut Edward M. Fincke as Hurricane Ivan approached landfall on the central Gulf coast Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 15th, 2004. At the time, sustained winds in the eye wall were reported at about 135 mph as the storm approached the Alabama coast. This photo was taken from an altitude of about 230 miles. (NASA)"
