Rainy end to the weekend

Hope everyone had a prank filled April Fools! The snowstorm I advertised on the white board will actually just be a wrap up of a storm moving through Sunday/Monday.

Looking at that time frame, precip will start Sunday and work its way into the early morning hours of Monday. Some precip in northern regions may start as snow before a transition to showers for the rest. If the snow freaks you out that much, we will have highs in the mid 50s later this week!

Could pick up close to a half-inch of rain if the dry slot stays far enough south. GFS really blows this system up and creates the potential for severe weather in the Plains and lower Ohio Valley.

Also, this past week was Severe Weather Awareness Week! As seasons begin to shift, severe weather season is on the doorstep! Be sure to keep yourself and others in the know of what to do when severe weather is imminent! NWS Detroit/Pontiac has a good site explaining some details (if you are not a fan of something being written in all caps, I am sorry):

Also recommend this PDF created summing up severe weather events for 2010 and other tips.
