Heavy Heat

High temperatures mid-week will be amplified by moist air causing heat indexes to near the triple digits.

This is in part thanks to two systems working together. A low pressure system spinning in the Dakotas acts as the ‘pull’ and a high pressure system in the deep south acts as a ‘push’. These two together are making a sort of conveyor belt pumping warm air into our region. Thankfully, by Thursday the low will track far enough eastward that we will cool down, but not after a bit of rain.

Can expect a good chance of showers and thunderstorms starting Thursday and into Saturday. This will payoff however. Temperatures will be in the comfortable 70s again.

I have a stockpile of interesting weather related reads built up. Guess I should start spitting them out.

Start this post off with an atmospheric addition to your home, mansion, or cool art exhibit; artificially generated clouds.

One Response to Heavy Heat

Sometimes I feel like my head is in a cloud all the time. I don’t feel the need to have one in the home, but if I had a vaulted ceiling, I think it would be a fun conversation piece for a party.
